People can't cope that China doesn't have tent cities filled with people left to the waves of the world

A comment of such low value, itself reeks of sock puppetry.

I wouldn’t call it a checkmate.

Indeed this is Chinese government calling the bluff of the US government.

What’s the next move?

I suggest you look at Myanmar where “rebels” have hijacked rare earth mining operations that were supplying ore to refining operations in China.

Or at Pakistan where infrastructure projects being built by Chinese companies are beset by “terrorists”.

The US government and capitalist oligarchs ( yes including those who manage and own the large shares in financial companies like Blackkrock) are not normal human beings. They are boundlessly greedy psychopaths. Gangsters. Don’t get lulled by their attempted facade of “laws” and their influence- or family connections-purchased degrees from famous universities. These are psychopathic criminals.

Consider that before calling it a “checkmate”.

Expect to see shipping from China heading though the Panama Canal suffer from “terrorism”, or “piracy”. Or even the canal itself suffering damage.

Unfortunately, China’s outplaying the “Art of the Squeal” crowd will barely get any coverage here in the US.

Though even some outlets on the right are starting to poke their tiny heads above the sandbags. The pile on seems to be gaining strength toward a Hegseth resignation.

Fortunately, Agent Orange will quickly blow the option of quietly walking away to consider other routes.

The Carney example provided a clear example of the route forward for individual states. The punch in the face approach that was lining up for Canada to work in concert with the EU, Japan, UK, China, et al regarding tariffs etc. worked splendidly.

Thanks for your posts. Very informative and insightful. Best.

Thanks for this piece, Declan. Glad to read the news.

Beware, as the Empire is in death spiral, it flails about everywhere, bringing death, destruction and misery to innocents - their security services are ruthless and active as we speak all over south-east Asia (incl. Myanmar) disrupting China any opportunity they get - see Brian Berletic on US taking over the Philippines once again and building numerous new military bases under the corrupt Marcos, who eschewed China's belt and road for, presumably, some corrupt pay off.

I hope what you write here is China fighting back and continuing to push it's constructive belt and road initiative in Latin America; who for the entire history of colonisation have had to endure relentless exploitation, misery and extreme violence from the CIA et al.

Trump is going to love this. He’ll send in troops you can bet on it. When you have a trillion dollar military, you need to keep them busy. The entreprenuer who owned this saw the writing on the wall and quickly tried to recoup some cash. He’s now screwed 🧐

Few stupid questions: 1) Is there a contradiction between a democratic state and being an imperial super-power? A state looks after the needs of its citizens and an imperial power usually has other businesses to worry about. 2) how do I know that US and China aren’t bluffing their own citizens and the rest of the world? 3) businessmen at the end of the day have loyalty to no one but the business...?
