Hossam Shabat's murder hit particularly hard, I'd been following him on twitter for months when he was the only journalist left in North Gaza and having close calls one after another, it was such a relief when the ceasefire meant he could finally see his family again. I'm heartbroken for his family, and for the life he was robbed of just for being who he was - a Palestinian, and a journalist.
Thank you for the update, Deaglan, and I wish you luck on your path, you'll be doing important work helping people in both fields. I have a standing commitment via ko-fi and that will remain, I don't comment often but please know that I do read and wish I could do more.
Thank you so much for taking the time to comment and saying hi! I appreciate every single one of the readers who's been with me as we've been building up the community and all those who are yet to join.
Hossam was a cool young lad and intelligent and brave. It's a punch in the gut that he's gone. Things like that just inflame people like me to continue in his name though. Unfortunately, I cannot be in Palestine right now but his message and his mission will be amplified through his tragic death. They will continue for years to come and he will be remembered in history.
Thank you for reading and have a good rest of the day,

Thank you so much for your kind comment, Shaniqua! I think you've been subscribed to the magazine from the days we only had ten people subscribed and you're definitely the most active commenter.
